Privacy Policy
Effective as of August 01, 2025
BabyReco LLC ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application ("the Application").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time by posting updates on this page. Please check the "Effective as of" date above to determine if the Privacy Policy has been revised since your last visit.
All information collected and maintained by us is subject to the version of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of collection. If the Privacy Policy changes in any material way, we will not use previously collected data in a manner inconsistent with the version in effect at the time of collection, without your prior consent.
Information Collection and Use
We differentiate between information that is processed on your device only and information that is collected by us (i.e., transmitted to our servers or third-party service providers).
1. Data Processed Locally on Your Device
The Application is designed to help pregnant women track contractions and monitor labor progress. To support this functionality, certain data is processed and stored only on your device. This includes:
- Contraction timing (start time, duration, frequency)
- Notes or observations you enter during labor
This information is not transmitted to our servers or shared with any third parties. It remains entirely on your device and is used only to provide the core features of the Application.
2. Data Collected Automatically (Pseudonymized Analytics Data)
To improve the Application and understand how it is used, we automatically collect certain pseudonymized technical and behavioral information. This data does not directly identify you but may be associated with your device or app instance through a randomly generated identifier.
We collect the following categories of data:
- Technical details (e.g., mobile device’s operating system and model; app-instance identifiers (e.g., Firebase Instance ID); device identifiers (e.g., IDFA, where permitted and consented); country and time zone).
- App usage patterns (e.g., pages and screens viewed; time and duration of sessions; interaction flows and screen transitions).
- Pregnancy-related metadata (e.g., pregnancy week provided by the user; whether this is your first pregnancy or a subsequent one).
- In-app events and milestones (e.g., when certain messages are displayed, such as guidance to go to the hospital).
This data is collected using third-party analytics services and is used strictly to improve functionality, personalize the user experience, and understand user needs. We do not associate this data with your identity or any contact information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect (pseudonymized data transmitted to our servers) for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Application: Ensuring the app functions correctly and reliably.
- To improve and personalize the Application: Understanding user behavior and preferences to enhance features and user experience.
- For analytics and research: Performing data analysis to evaluate app usage, track errors, and identify trends.
- For in-app purchases: Supporting transactions within the Application.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Specific)
For users in the European Union and the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases for processing the pseudonymized data we collect:
- Consent: For using identifiers like IDFA for tracking purposes, we will seek your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time, though this will not affect the lawfulness of processing before your withdrawal.
- Legitimate Interests: For processing pseudonymized technical and usage data necessary for the proper functioning, security, and improvement of the Application, where our interests are not overridden by your data protection rights and interests.
- Contractual Necessity: The processing of on-device pregnancy-related data is necessary for the performance of the contract with you, specifically to provide the core functionality of the Application.
Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We disclose the information we collect (pseudonymized data) only in the following situations:
1. Third-Party Service Providers:
The Application uses third-party services to enhance functionality, improve user experience, and analyze usage patterns. These services help optimize performance, track errors, and support in-app purchases. These third-party providers operate under their own Privacy Policies and Data Processing Agreements, which govern how they collect, process, and store data. They process data on our behalf as data processors.
For more details, please refer to the Privacy Policies and Data Processing Agreements of the third-party service providers currently used in the Application:
2. Legal Requirements and Protection of Our Rights:
We disclose the pseudonymized data we collect only if we have a good-faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request. This also includes cases where we believe it's necessary to identify, contact, or take legal action against individuals who may be violating this Privacy Policy or our terms of service, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the general public.
International Data Transfers
Your pseudonymized data (the data we collect) may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where some of our service providers' servers are located. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those in your country.
For transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we ensure that such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards as required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. These safeguards typically include the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or reliance on the Data Privacy Framework (DPF) for transfers to certified U.S. entities — ensuring a level of data protection equivalent to that in the EEA/UK.
Children’s Privacy
The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from individuals under the age of 13. We request that such individuals do not use the Application.
Age Limitation for EU and UK Residents: Due to requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent UK law, you must be at least 16 years old to use the Application. If you are under this age, please do not use the Application.
Data Retention Policy
We retain the pseudonymized personal data we collect only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, and in accordance with applicable legal, technical, and operational requirements.
Specifically:
- Firebase Analytics Data: Data collected via Firebase Analytics, including your app-instance identifiers and associated usage metrics, is retained for a maximum of 14 months. After this period, the data is either automatically deleted or aggregated in a way that it can no longer be linked to an individual app instance.
- Amplitude Analytics Data: Data collected via Amplitude is retained according to Amplitude’s data retention policies. This data is used solely for internal analytics and product improvement. You may request deletion by contacting us at contact@babyreco.app.
- Locally Processed Data: Data such as contraction timing and personal notes is processed and stored only on your device. We do not collect or retain this data on our systems. Its retention is entirely managed by you, typically until you delete the app or clear the data from your device.
Your Data Protection Rights (EU and UK Residents)
If you are a resident of the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have specific rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent UK law. Please note that these rights primarily apply to the pseudonymized data we collect and process on our servers. For data which is processed exclusively on your device, you can manage, modify, or delete this data directly within the Application or by deleting the Application from your device.
Your rights (for data we collect) include:
- Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data that we hold.
- Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request that we erase your personal data under certain conditions. For pseudonymized data, this might involve requesting deletion of your app instance data by deleting the application or contacting us. Please note our specific data retention periods outlined above.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
- Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@babyreco.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding to such requests. Please note that deleting data we collect may affect certain features or the functionality of the Application.
Security
Protecting user privacy and the security of your data is a top priority for us. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect the pseudonymized personal data we collect. Access to the data we collect is restricted to authorized personnel, contractors, agents, and third-party service providers who require it to operate, develop, maintain, support, or improve the Application. We use password protection, access logs, and system monitoring to help ensure confidentiality and security of the data we handle.
Data Deletion Requests
If you wish for your pseudonymized data associated with your app instance, which we collect, to be removed from our systems, please contact us at contact@babyreco.app.
Upon verifying your request (which may involve confirming your device or app-instance details to the extent possible with pseudonymized data), we will delete the relevant data within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are legally required or otherwise permitted to retain it. Please note that deleting data we collect may affect certain features or the functionality of the Application.
For data processed exclusively on your device, you can delete this data directly through the Application's features or by uninstalling the Application from your device.
